The Gallery
Quilts made from repurposed cloth are nothing new. But the combination of mixed media and repurposed books yields a totally new look. The BiblioQuilts you see here are comprised of thousands of “tiles” that were harvested from discarded or damaged hardcovers—books that no one has read or paid attention to in decades. Most were on their way to the dump. Larry enhances those raw materials with mixed media and bookbinding supplies. He’ll use postcards, maps, and other ephemera sparingly, thereby restricting his palette to neglected books. That’s what makes the work challenging and unique. You can order an original BiblioQuilt from our current inventory or commission a unique piece that will be sourced from books that are collecting dust in your attic, basement, or library—giving the final artwork an extra-personal touch. We also have limited-edition giclee prints available which have been hand-signed and numbered by the artist.
